El próximo 6 de octubre, Amaia Montero, ex vocalista de La Oreja de Van Gogh, se estrena en solitario con el lanzamiento de su primer sencillo como solista que formará parte de un disco que saldrá a la venta el 12 de octubre. El primer single titulado "Quiero ser" no es una canción de pop clásico y va a sorprender a los numerosos fans de la cantante donostiarra.
El nuevo álbum de Amaia Montero constará de once canciones. Todas ellas han sido compuestas por Amaia, que comenzó a trabajar en los temas a finales de 2007. Después, entre enero y junio de 2008, realizó la primera maquetación en Madrid junto al ingeniero Bori Alarcón.
Producido por el italiano Claudio Guidetti (que ha trabajado con los más grandes artistas italianos, como Eros Ramazzotti, Angelo Branduardi, Laura Pausini, Francesco De Gregori, Gianni Morando), el álbum continuó su proceso en Génova en el estudio de Guidetti y después en Milán, en el estudio de Ramazzotti, hasta finales del pasado mes de agosto. Amaia Montero se involucró absolutamente en su álbum, supervisando todos los procesos de la grabación.
Por último, Amaia permaneció en Los Angeles junto a Mike Tacci, el ingeniero encargado de las mezclas. Tacci es un profesional de larga experiencia que ha trabajado con artistas como Thomas Dolby, Cheap Trick, Tori Amos, Metallica, Eros Ramazzotti o Diego Torres. Las mezclas se concluyeron en los Henson Recording Studios de Los Angeles, por los que han pasado los más grandes artistas de la historia de la música popular contemporánea.
